Special Training Needed:
- Familiarity with metal and plastics forming techniques.
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
Experience Required
- 4 Years Engineering Degree with demonstrated CAD capability. Relevant experience may be substituted for Degree.
- Experience in 3-D CAD design, focusing on SolidWorks, and other engineering analysis software. ASME-Y-14.100 /
ANSI-Y-14.5 drawing terms and tolerances.
- Demonstrated / documented experience in design projects (cradle to grave) multiple components and assemblies.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Support Knight’s Armament Company by developing production and manufacturing engineering operational component and assembly drawings and models for firearms; ammunition handling systems and firearm accessories with the intent on providing new products for KAC.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES
- Develop design concepts and update existing concepts on 3-D CAD system.
- Work with engineers in assuring components have adequate strength and meet functional and dynamic requirements.
- Produce drawings and models to meet both production and manufacturing engineering requirements to ASME-Y-14.100 /
ANSI-Y-14.5 format, using SolidWorks 3-D CAD software.
- Promote use of existing CAD/CAM/PDM Software and best practices.
- Understanding and implementing Mechanical CAD/PDM tools and models.
- Chair and participate in production and manufacturing process reviews, assuring that products meet the overall design
objectives and are producible, have no safety flaws and are sale-able.
- Will at times work as a project manager and at other times participate as a team member.
- Record or direct the recording of required data from measurements and observations with attention to archiving all relevant
data as well as producing clear, concise reports.
- Follow firearm safety procedures and maintain security of weapons.
- Maintain the confidentiality of Knight Enterprises Management, LLC designs, data procedures and processes.
- Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in both technical and user-friendly
language when providing expertise to train others in processes and procedures as required.
- Ability to work within a collaborative team structure by having a welcoming attitude and personality with strong
interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to exercise independent judgment, effectively prioritize, and execute tasks while under pressure.
- Problem solving, be able to asses non-conforming components and develop process to bring back to conformance.
- Develop processes on component manufacturing in ERP system.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
