PRODUCTION FABRICATION ENGINEER

Steel Structure Industry

We are seeking a Production Fabrication Engineer with strong hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication, capable of managing end-to-end workshop production activities and ensuring timely project delivery.

Detailed Job Description Production & Planning

• Plan and control daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules in line with project targets
• Allocate manpower, machines, and materials efficiently to meet deadlines
• Monitor production output and ensure achievement of planned vs actual targets

Fabrication Operations

• Supervise fabrication activities including cutting, drilling, fitting, welding, blasting, and painting
• Ensure fabrication is executed strictly as per approved shop drawings, IFC drawings, and BOQs
• Coordinate with Tekla / drafting team for drawing clarifications and revisions
• Ensure compliance with WPS, PQR, and welding procedures

Quality & Inspection

• Coordinate with QC Engineers for WIR, MIR, and stage inspections
• Ensure fabrication meets client specifications, international codes, and project standards
• Identify non-conformances and implement corrective & preventive actions

Material & Cost Control

• Monitor material consumption, wastage, and scrap control
• Coordinate with stores for material issuance, traceability, and inventory control
• Support estimation and planning teams with production data and productivity norms

Manpower & Workshop Supervision

• Lead and supervise foremen, supervisors, welders, fitters, and helpers
• Evaluate workforce productivity and recommend improvements
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure HSE compliance in the fabrication yard
• Coordination & Reporting
• Coordinate with planning, procurement, QC, logistics, and erection teams

Continuous Improvement

• Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality
• Support audits related to ISO, QHSE, and client requirements
• Maintain proper documentation and records for fabrication activities

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production / Civil Engineering
• 4–8 years experience in steel structure fabrication yards
• Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication workflows
• Familiar with ISO 9001, WIR/MIR, WPS, and QA/QC procedures
• Good leadership, coordination, and communication skills
• UAE / GCC experience preferred
• Prepare daily production reports, progress updates, and delay analysis
• Support project managers in resolving fabrication-related technical issues
