Summary
The Production Lead oversees all aspects of production for the services/ gatherings at Timberline Church. The specific services/ gatherings this role oversees are primarily but not limited to the production of Saturday and Sunday services as well as Wednesday night services. The Production Lead is responsible for producing these services in a powerful, engaging, and professional manner.
The goal of this role is to provide clear oversight and leadership over all aspects of production, both in-house and online, throughout the entire process of the services. The Production Lead will also be engaging with a group of media/tech volunteers each week and will be responsible for both leading and training volunteers to execute the production of these services.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Attend weekly ‘Midweek’ meetings on Wednesdays to gather any further information for the production of the weekly gatherings.
- Ensure the upload of any and all media content to appropriate auditorium’s CG requirements for specific service by Wednesday afternoon.
- Ensure all lighting programming for service is completed by Thursday.
- Ensure that all creative and functional elements are effectively coordinated and communicated for both the in-person and online audience.
- Oversee compelling, creative, distraction-free services by managing all media production through leading, training, and developing a volunteer media team. (This also includes developing/ training future, volunteer producers.)
- Support the Teaching Pastors and Creative Team to help creatively conceptualize the weekend experience, augmenting the thematic message with creativity and relevance for strong audience impact.
- Plan and coordinate the development of creative assets and components that contribute to the united vision drafted for each weekend service by utilizing such things as service deliverables, media graphics, video, stage lighting, and audio effects.
- Prepare media and tech for weekend services using a variety of programs such as ProPresenter, PCO, RESI, livestreams, cameras and recording technology
- Oversee all media production, visual and audio elements, and prepare workflows for weekend services and Timberline events with professional excellence.
- Serve as a coach and mentor for the Media team, setting a professional standard and support for creative, conceptual, and technical production.
- Lead with clear and consistent communication, ensuring all team members, volunteers, and leaders understand relevant details for ensuring production excellence.
- Advise and improve on production processes, equipment management, schedules, and production aspects for optimizing efficient production. This will be executed by working closely with the Tech Director, and Media Coordinator.
- Maintain a learning perspective; collecting insights and developing ways to enhance the effectiveness of the weekend experience.
Skills/Qualifications
- This role requires former or currently active production experience in a church or similar venue familiar with live music performance, live keynote/ sermon speakers, live video production, iMag, CG, creative stage lighting, etc.
- This role requires the ability to clearly communicate and effectively manage/ lead a team of volunteers throughout the production to effectively execute their roles for the services.
- This role requires detail oriented leadership with an ability to engage with and manage in real-time, all aspects of service preparation and production at Timberline.
- Exhibit inspiring leadership, technical excellence, and creative passion, providing conceptual input, development, and production of assets, ensuring all technical aspects are managed with excellence.
- Display strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to proactively problem solve and think quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have quality interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people, and to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, by e-mail, and in person, demonstrating tact and diplomacy.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in filmmaking, videography, broadcast production, digital, film production or related field preferred.
- Minimum three years of production experience in a professional setting; content creation experience is a plus.
