Shift: Full-Time
About the Role
We are looking for a high-level Production Expeditor to act as the tactical link between our Planning, Purchasing, and Shop Floor teams. You won’t be the one writing the master schedule, but you will be the one responsible for making sure every job on that schedule is "Ready to Launch."
You are the "Go/No-Go" gauge for our production. Your mission is to ensure that before a Kitting employee spends a second staging a job, the material is in the building, the tools are in the crib, and the program is verified. You are the "in-the-trenches" support that keeps our machine leads from wasting time on incomplete jobs.
What You’ll Do (The "Green Light" Process)
- Pre-Flight Verification: For every upcoming job on the schedule, you are responsible for confirming:
- Material: Is it physically here and confirmed by Purchasing?
- Tooling: Has Purchasing ordered the specific inserts/holders needed?
- Programming: Has the Lead Programmer finalized and released the code?
- Directing the Kitting Team: Once (and only once) the material, tools, and programs are 100% confirmed, you will direct the Kitting/Tooling staff to begin staging. You manage their priority list based on the Scheduler's needs.
- The "Gap" Strategy: Monitor the floor for idle spindles. When a machine opens up, you identify the next "Low-Risk" job that has all three "Green Light" items ready and deploy it immediately.
- Logistics & Shipping Integrity: Manage the "Back End" by auditing shipping counts against final inspection reports. You will be responsible for ensuring data entry errors don't lead to lost parts or incorrect shipments.
- Team Liaison: You will attend daily meetings with the Planner and Purchaser to report on what is "Ready to Run" and where the bottlenecks are (e.g., "We can't run Job X because we are still waiting on the program").
Who You Are
- The Follow-Through Specialist: You don't just ask if a tool is ordered; you verify the tracking number and the arrival date.
- Shop-Savy: You understand the CNC workflow. You know that a machine can't run without a program, even if the material is sitting right next to it.
- Clerical Athlete: You are comfortable moving between the shop floor, the shipping dock, and the ERP system in the office.
- Assertive Communicator: You aren't afraid to politely "pester" a programmer or a vendor to get the answers the team needs to stay on schedule.
Requirements
- 2+ years in a CNC manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Experience as an Expeditor, Production Clerk, or Assistant Planner.
- Proficiency in ERP software and Microsoft Excel.
- A high degree of accuracy with numbers and data entry.
