The Production Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities within the production facility to ensure maximum equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety. This role involves managing maintenance teams, developing preventive maintenance programs, coordinating repairs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities1. Maintenance Operations

  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate daily maintenance activities across production lines.
  • Ensure timely repair of machines, equipment, and utilities to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation issues.

2. Team Leadership

  • Manage maintenance technicians, engineers, and support staff.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Assign work orders and ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

3. Equipment & Facility Management

  • Maintain all production machinery, tools, HVAC, utilities, and facility systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors when required.

4. Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all maintenance activities follow safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and promote a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (ISO, OSHA, etc., depending on industry).

5. Budgeting & Documentation

  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and procurement.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and downtime.
  • Prepare maintenance reports for management.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Lead initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce operational costs.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or 5S practices.
  • Support production teams with engineering solutions and process improvements.

QualificationsEducation

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • 4–5+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
  • Proven leadership experience in a maintenance supervisory role.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with CMMS software (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent planning, communication, and leadership abilities.
