Essential Job Functions:
Major tasks and other key responsibilities include:

Understand & able to perform all duties outlined in Batch Maker and Bulk Receiving Job Descriptions

Supervise Batch Makers throughout the day.

Train Batch Makers, upon initial assignment and as needed.

Review Batch Sheets upon initial development and periodically to ensure that they accurately reflect procedures and equipment. Provide written recommendation for improvements to Plant Manager.

Assign Batch Sheets to Batch Makers each morning.

Help Batch Makers complete batches accurately and on time by making suggestions for working efficiently and, when needed, assist with Batch Maker duties.

Safe, efficient operation of all departmental operations including the leadership and management of operations personnel.

Communicate with Batch Makers midday to ascertain progress on assigned batches and, in the event that the daily assignment cannot be completed, establish priorities for completion or approve overtime.

Ensure that Batch Makers report to work on time and leave at designated time and report problems to Plant Manager.

Ensure that Batch Makers are taking appropriate breaks (unpaid 0.5 hr lunch and paid 10-min morning & afternoon) and report problems to Plant Manager.

Schedule and run weekly production meetings to enhance communication among Batch Makers and Production Supervisor & Plant Manager.

Discuss Batch Maker performance with Plant Manager and assist in completion of annual review for Batch Makers.

Ensure that Batch Makers follow safety procedures, use ventilation when appropriate, and wear appropriate personnel protective equipment.

Report problems related to work load and personnel to Plant Manager.

Ensure that equipment is OFF, as appropriate, and secure production area at end of each day shift OR ensure that this duty is delegated to one individual.

Review and evaluate chemical and equipment hazards on an ongoing basis and report hazards and recommend improvements to Plant Manager and Safety team.

Present and maintain a positive attitude with regards to Polytek management policies and instructions.

Use ProcessPro and other software programs to manage daily production orders.

Report safety concerns immediately to the Plant Manager or Safety Committee Member.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time and work on a computer.

Must be able to work in an office environment.

Must be able to talk, hear and see with vision abilities including close/near, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering manufacturing areas.
Education and Experience:
-
Must be able to understand, speak, write and read English.
-
Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field or an equivalent combination of skills and experience preferred.
-
3 - 5 years of experience preferred.
-
Experience with automated bottling & filling equipment preferred.
-
Knowledge and experience with OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations pertaining to the chemical industry

Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving and time management skills.
