Position Overview
The Production Manager will oversee day-to-day manufacturing workflow, coordinate labor and equipment schedules, and ensure materials are ordered and available to support production deadlines. You will work closely with engineering, purchasing, and shop personnel to keep projects on time, within budget, and aligned with quality expectations.
This is a hands-on, detail-driven position requiring strong communication, planning ability, and a proactive approach to solving problems before they slow production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the production schedule in coordination with engineering and shop leads
- Track project status, material needs, and delivery timelines
- Order components, steel, and supplies—ensuring timely arrival and cost efficiency
- Prioritize work orders and allocate labor resources to support deadlines
- Monitor shop progress daily, identifying bottlenecks and adjusting plans accordingly
- Oversight of machine shop tasks, schedule and planning
- Maintain organized production documentation, inventory records, and job files
- Facilitate communication between engineering, purchasing, and the shop floor
- Support continuous improvement in workflow, safety, and efficiency
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial production management
- Strong scheduling, organization, and project coordination skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent communication—comfortable working with shop personnel, suppliers, and engineering
- High attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Proficiency with digital scheduling tools, spreadsheets, and documentation systems
Preferred:
- Experience in heavy steel fabrication or large industrial equipment manufacturing
- Familiarity with mechanical drawings, BOMs, or steel processing workflows
- Understanding of material lead times, vendor coordination, and procurement practices
- Experience with ESAB burn table

Pay: $65,000.00 - $84,270.55 per year
