POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Manager oversees production teams, ensuring seamless operations, safety compliance, and continuous improvement in output, quality, and cost efficiency. They lead supervisors and frontline staff to meet performance goals, maintain high product standards, and adhere to OSHA and operational procedures in this safety-sensitive role.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Ensure quality production line performance.

· Assign tasks and monitor direct reports to maximize process efficiency.

· Plan staffing and activities to meet business goals and customer needs.

· Lead interdepartmental cooperation and mentor supervisors to foster engagement. Oversee safety, quality, and timely production aligned with specifications.

· Guide supervisors in hiring and staff development planning.

· Monitor staffing levels and ensure adherence to safety practices.

· Drive process improvement through lean methodologies.

· Manage budgets, daily metrics, and facilitate end-of-shift walks.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT

· Develop strategies to optimize staffing levels and balance skills with production demands.

· Analyze productivity metrics, absenteeism, and turnover to identify and address challenges.

· Collaborate with HR on workforce planning, recruitment, and retention strategies.

· Align scheduling with production needs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

· Foster an inclusive environment that promotes engagement, teamwork, and strong work ethics.

· Implement industry’s best practices and new technology to drive workforce performance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledge

· In-depth knowledge of production management: inventory control, resource planning, and scheduling.

· Strong grasp of lean manufacturing, process improvement, and operational best practices.

· Familiarity with industry regulations, including OSHA and environmental compliance.

· Knowledge of quality control systems and product testing methods to meet performance standards.

Skills

· Strong problem-solving skills: analyze data, identify trends, and implement solutions.

· Proven leadership and team-building abilities to motivate employees and drive performance.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, across all organizational levels.

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE (QUALITY)

· Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure products meet performance and reliability standards.

· Implement quality control processes to monitor and improve production quality.

· Analyze data to Identify trends and drive continuous Improvements.

· Address defects and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality.

MAXIMIZE OUTPUT:

· Plan production schedules to maximize output and achieve targets.

· Optimize manpower, equipment, and materials for efficient operations.

· Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance productivity.

· Reduce downtime through continuous process improvements.

LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT:

· Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment with open communication.

· Set clear goals, provide feedback, and recognize team accomplishments.

· Support professional growth through servant leadership and emotional intelligence.

· Encourage continuous improvement and innovation in production processes.

COLLABORATION:

· Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Supply Chain, and other departments for seamless operations.

· Engage cross-functional teams to identify process Improvements and optimize resources.

· Promote a culture of shared goals, mutual support, and high-quality product delivery.

· Act as a liaison between production and other departments, sharing best practices and lessons

· learned.

· Align strategies with organizational objectives to improve safety, customer experience, output, and

· cost.

ENVIRONMENT

· Perform tasks requiring physical stamina and mobility in both office and manufacturing settings.

· Stand, walk, and oversee production for extended periods.

· Lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds as needed.

· Maintain adequate vision, hearing, and dexterity to assess processes and ensure safety.

· Navigate the manufacturing floor with agility, including climbing, bending, and reaching.

· Adapt to moderate noise, temperature changes, and potential exposure to hazardous materials.

· Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 5 years leadership experience required in manufacturing/production environment.

· Proven Leadership in a high-volume manufacturing/production environment.

· Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement, and operational best practices. The ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve goals and drive continuous improvement.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

· Strong organizational and project management abilities to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

· Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to a safe work environment.

· Must be available to work overtime and/or weekends based on business needs.

· Intermediate to advanced computer skills {Excel, Word, Salesforce or other ERP system).

· Valid driver’s license required; clean driving record must be maintained.

· Bilingual a plus.
