Production Manager — Recycling Operations
Just Right Middle East FZE | Jafza North, Dubai
Department: Manufacturing & Operations
Reporting To: Director of Operations
Location: Dubai, UAE (On-site)
About the Role
Just Right Middle East FZCO is seeking a technically strong and operationally experienced Production Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing and recycling operations across our production facility. This role is central to ensuring output targets, quality standards, process efficiency, and safety compliance are consistently met across all production lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and oversee all daily production activities across recycling lines to meet output targets and delivery timelines.
- Monitor throughput, yield, and efficiency across material sorting, shredding, washing, pelletizing, and extrusion processes.
- Implement and maintain production SOPs, work instructions, and shift handover procedures.
- Coordinate with procurement and warehouse on raw material (input waste stream) availability and finished goods (regrind/pellets) dispatch.
Quality & Process Control
- Ensure all recycled output meets specified polymer grade, contamination, and mechanical property standards.
- Investigate and resolve production non-conformances, line stoppages, and quality deviations.
- Work with QC team to maintain testing protocols for incoming and outgoing material.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean and process engineering methodologies.
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and performance-manage a multi-shift production team including operators, technicians, and line supervisors.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational discipline on the factory floor.
- Coordinate with HR on workforce planning, shift structures, and training needs.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all EHS policies in line with UAE regulatory requirements and JAFZA zone standards.
- Ensure fire safety, chemical handling, PPE compliance, and emergency procedures are strictly followed across all three factory buildings.
- Conduct regular safety walkthroughs and participate in incident investigations.
Maintenance & Equipment Coordination
- Liaise with the maintenance team for preventive and corrective maintenance scheduling on recycling machinery.
- Track equipment downtime and support root cause analysis for recurring failures.
Reporting & ERP
- Generate and present daily/weekly production reports to management.
- Maintain accurate production records within the ERP system (Odoo).
- Track KPIs including OEE, material yield, wastage rates, and energy consumption.
Qualifications
- B.Tech. in Petrochemical Engineering or B.E./B.Tech. in Plastics Engineering/Technology from CIPET (Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology) or an equivalent accredited institution.
- M.Tech. in Plastics Engineering/Technology or M.Sc. Tech. in Material Science & Engineering from CIPET or equivalent — strongly preferred for candidates with fewer years of experience, or for those targeting senior-level entry into this role.
- A post-graduate qualification in plastics/polymer engineering is particularly valuable given the technical complexity of recycled polymer grading, contamination control, and secondary processing quality management.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in plastics, polymer, or petrochemical manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial production role.
- Hands-on experience with recycling processes (mechanical recycling preferred) — sorting, granulation, washing, drying, extrusion/pelletizing.
- Familiarity with polymer identification, grade testing, and contamination assessment.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of polymer processing machinery and maintenance practices.
- Understanding of quality control testing for recycled plastics (MFI, tensile, impact, colour).
- Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with Odoo is an advantage.
- Competency in MS Office and production data analysis.
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team management capability across multicultural workforces.
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Clear communicator with the ability to manage upward and across departments.
- Structured, process-driven, and capable of working under production pressure.
