Job Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the manufacturing processes for aluminum kitchen appliances such as cookware, pressure cookers, utensils, and related products. The role ensures production targets are met efficiently while maintaining quality standards, safety, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Control
- Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on demand and capacity
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials
- Monitor production output and minimize downtime and wastage
Process & Operations Management
- Oversee aluminum forming, casting, pressing, spinning, anodizing, polishing, coating, and assembly processes
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Identify process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
Quality Assurance
- Ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications
- Coordinate with the Quality Control team to resolve defects and implement corrective actions
- Maintain documentation related to quality, production, and compliance
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise production supervisors, line leaders, and shop-floor workers
- Train staff on processes, safety practices, and quality requirements
- Monitor attendance, performance, and discipline on the shop floor
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and statutory regulations
- Promote safe handling of aluminum, machinery, and chemicals
- Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks
Inventory & Cost Control
- Coordinate with stores and procurement for raw material availability
- Control material wastage and scrap generation
- Monitor production costs and support cost-reduction initiatives
Maintenance Coordination
- Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure machine availability
- Plan preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering
- Additional certification in manufacturing or operations management is a plus
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in aluminum kitchenware or metal products
- Strong hands-on experience in aluminum processing and mass production environments
