Position Overview
The Production Manager (Exhibition) oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of all exhibition production activities. This role ensures that all design, fabrication, logistics, and installation components are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Production Manager works closely with designers, project managers, contractors, and clients to bring creative concepts to life in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Management
- Develop and manage detailed production schedules, budgets, and resource plans for exhibitions and trade shows.
- Coordinate with internal teams (design, project management, logistics) and external vendors to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve any issues or delays.
- Conduct site visits and oversee installation, dismantling, and load-out operations.
2. Technical & Production Oversight
- Review technical drawings, floor plans, and material specifications for accuracy and feasibility.
- Manage fabrication processes, ensuring quality control and adherence to design intent.
- Source and negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and rental companies for materials, equipment, and labor.
- Oversee on-site production, ensuring health and safety compliance and adherence to timelines.
3. Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage production budgets, quotations, and cost reports.
- Track and reconcile all production expenses.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or design standards.
4. Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise production teams, fabricators, and subcontractors on and off-site.
- Communicate effectively with designers, project managers, and clients throughout the production process.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior production staff.
5. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and venue regulations.
- Manage risk assessments and method statements for each project.
- Maintain safety standards during construction, installation, and dismantling phases.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Production Management, Event Management, Design, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in exhibition, event, or set production (agency or contractor background preferred).
- Proven track record in managing complex exhibition builds from concept to completion.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of materials, fabrication techniques, and construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD layouts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management tools, and (optionally) 3D MAX and CORONA.

Work Environment
- Combination of office, workshop, and on-site environments.
