Position Title: Production Manager – Joinery

Purpose of Role

The Production Manager will oversee all production activities from planning through execution, ensuring that furniture/interior-furnishing items are manufactured efficiently, to the highest quality standards, delivered on time, and within budget. This role requires leadership, strong coordination across departments (design, procurement, logistics), as well as continuous improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage production schedules that align with customer demand, project timelines, and inventory targets.
  • Allocate and manage resources (labour, materials, equipment) to optimise production efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Supervise, coach and mentor production teams (shop-floor staff, machine operators, assemblers), ensuring high performance, safety and engagement.
  • Ensure finished products meet quality standards/specifications and customer requirements. Implement quality assurance & control processes.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance, downtime, breakdowns; coordinate with maintenance team/technicians to ensure minimal disruption.
  • Manage production cost-control: monitor budget, labour cost, material cost, waste, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with procurement/supply chain, design, logistics and sales/project teams to ensure timely availability of materials and smooth workflow.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environment (HSE) and local UAE labour regulations on the shop floor. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Track performance using KPIs (e.g., productivity, on-time delivery, quality defect rate, equipment utilization), prepare reports for senior management and present insights.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives: Lean practices, process re-engineering, waste elimination, workplace organisation (e.g., 5S) and new production methods.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in production/ manufacturing operations; preferably 2+ years in a management role (or equivalent) within furniture, interior décor, or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, inventory management and manufacturing equipment.
  • Proven track-record of achieving production targets, managing cost & quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in production management software / ERP systems, MS Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
