Production Manager / Maintenance Mechanic

Position Overview

This is a dual-role position combining production management and equipment maintenance. You will oversee daily production workflow while also troubleshooting and maintaining printing and packaging machinery to ensure minimal downtime.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a team and working directly with equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management:

• Oversee daily production operations and workflow
• Manage and support production staff
• Ensure orders are completed on time and meet quality standards

What You’ll Do

• Oversee daily production in our photography lab (prints, packaging, order fulfillment)
• Lead and support a small team to meet daily production goals
• Organize workflow to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
• Monitor quality of printed products and finished packages
• Coordinate schedules and staffing during peak school seasons
• Troubleshoot production issues and keep operations moving efficiently
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Monitor productivity and implement process improvements

Maintenance & Technical:

The Technician is responsible for technical and service-related maintenance and service on a range of digital press, industrial bindery and mailing equipment. This job may include any aspect of equipment support, including hardware and software. The Technician will provide technical support to all digital press, bindery and mailing equipment and determine the most time-effective repair/resolution to minimize downtime.

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and minor software issues
• Reduce downtime with fast, effective repairs
• Coordinate major repairs or external service when needed
• Be available to provide support to the facility outside of regular working hours if necessary
• Troubleshoot complex issues with equipment
• Work collaboratively with plant and management teams to find solutions to problems
• Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills: 2 years (Preferred)
• Prior leadership or supervisory : 1 year (Preferred)
