SUMMARY:
The Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of all manufacturing operations within the Texas facility. This role provides direct leadership to production supervisors, foremen, and department leads across carpentry, metal fabrication, CNC, laser, powder coating, painting, assembly, packing, and other production functions.
The Production Manager is accountable for production scheduling, labor utilization, workflow management, throughput, quality, safety, and on-time delivery. This position serves as the primary operational leader on the shop floor, ensuring production activities are executed efficiently while maintaining Displayit's standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
The Production Manager works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure manufacturing resources are aligned with project schedules, labor demands, and company objectives. This role allows the Operations Manager to focus on strategic planning, operational performance, workforce development, and cross-functional leadership.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production Leadership
- Lead and direct daily production activities across all manufacturing departments.
- Coordinate labor resources to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
- Conduct daily production meetings to review priorities, labor allocation, bottlenecks, and project status.
- Monitor workflow and ensure production activities remain aligned with delivery schedules.
- Escalate production risks, delays, labor shortages, and material constraints to the Operations Manager.
- Ensure departments work collaboratively to achieve production goals.
Production Scheduling & Execution
- Execute production schedules established by Operations, Program Management, and Manufacturing leadership.
- Monitor daily throughput and production performance.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure projects move efficiently through fabrication, finishing, assembly, and packing.
- Coordinate production priorities with supervisors and department leads.
- Support recovery plans when schedules fall behind.
Labor Management
- Directly supervise production supervisors, foremen, and department leads.
- Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained throughout all shifts.
- Monitor labor utilization and productivity.
- Manage employee attendance and shift coverage.
- Review overtime requirements and provide recommendations to the Operations Manager.
- Cross-train employees to improve operational flexibility and workforce utilization.
Quality Management
- Ensure all work meets Displayit's quality standards and customer expectations.
- Partner with Quality Control to resolve production-related quality issues.
- Reduce rework, defects, and production errors.
- Promote a culture of craftsmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure quality checkpoints are followed throughout the manufacturing process.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and shop floor observations.
- Immediately address unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Ensure all workplace injuries, incidents, and near misses are reported immediately.
- Support accident investigations and corrective actions.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Administrative & Operational Accountability
- Ensure employee attendance issues are properly documented and communicated.
- Ensure employee absences are reported timely and accurately.
- Ensure workplace injuries are reported immediately and escalated to HR and management.
- Review and approve employee timecards for accuracy prior to payroll processing.
- Ensure schedule changes, labor transfers, and employee status changes are properly documented.
- Support onboarding and training of new employees.
- Maintain accurate production records and departmental reporting.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and workflow.
- Support implementation of lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
- Reduce waste, rework, downtime, and unnecessary labor costs.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and facility optimization projects.
- Promote accountability and operational discipline throughout the organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Program Management, Engineering, Procurement, Quality Control, Logistics, and HR.
- Communicate production status, challenges, and resource needs.
- Support successful project execution from release through shipment.
- Assist with resolving operational issues impacting project schedules.
Other Duties

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience may be substituted.
- 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Experience in millwork, custom fabrication, exhibits, trade shows, retail fixtures, architectural woodworking, or related industries strongly preferred.
- Experience managing multiple production departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading supervisors and production teams.

- OSHA and workplace safety requirements.
- ERP systems (Innergy preferred).

· Frequently required to stand, walk, and move throughout manufacturing areas.

· Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
· Must be able to safely perform duties within a manufacturing environment while adhering to all safety requirements.
Pay: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
