1. Planning & Scheduling
- Develop production plans and timelines to meet project or order deadlines.
- Coordinate with departments (purchasing, design, sales) to ensure smooth workflow.
- Allocate resources (materials, labor, machinery) efficiently.
2. Supervision & Coordination
- Oversee production staff and ensure they follow procedures.
- Assign tasks and monitor performance on the shop floor.
- Conduct daily or weekly production meetings.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Identify defects or process issues and take corrective action.
- Work with the quality assurance team to maintain standards.
4. Cost & Efficiency Management
- Monitor production costs and reduce waste.
- Optimize processes to improve productivity.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment.
5. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct safety inspections and training for staff.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
6. Inventory & Materials Management
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely material availability.
- Minimize stockouts or overstocking.
7. Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production reports.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Present performance updates to senior management.
8. Continuous Improvement
- Implement lean manufacturing or process improvement initiatives.
- Encourage innovation and problem-solving within the team.
- Train and develop staff to improve skills and productivity.
