Summary:
Safely and efficiently, operate a variety of processing and packaging equipment involved in the preparation of liquid and dry blend products. To include but not limited to such activities as weighing, combining, and mixing materials, monitoring, and manipulating materials at various stages of processing; filling various sized containers; and preparing products for shipping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Working safely and following all safety rules.
- Following all formulating as specified.
- Read and understand Manufacturing Process Sheet or Sheets (Blend Sheet).
- Completing all production paperwork accurately and on time (end of shift).
- Pick and assemble raw materials by product name and Lot No. as described on work order with the RSF scanner.
- Weigh raw materials or ingredients accurately as instructed by the amounts directed on the work order with the Metler Toledo Weighing system.
- Bin-move left-over partial raw material to proper bin location using the RFS scanner.
- Package and label product in proper container according to procedure and directions.
- Weigh all finished material accurately.
- Palletize or stack finished product according to procedure, directions, or Supervisor’s directions.
- Inform Supervisor, lab, and shipping department when it is ready for shipment.
- Fill out all packing paperwork accurately and on time.
- Clean and sanitize area and equipment to make suitable for manufacture of next batch. All production and packing equipment must be cleaned and organized before shifts end.
- Maintaining clean work areas including sweeping, mopping, organizing, cleaning pails and keeping floor clean in various areas as directed by Supervisor or management.
- Operating various pieces of warehouse material handling equipment.
- Taking proper care of equipment used while performing job.
- Cooperating with supervision, co-workers, and management.
- Advise supervisor or management when leaving work area or building.
- Able to work flexible hours to accommodate customer’s needs.
- Willing and able to work overtime when needed.
- Performs sanitization duties as instructed by supervisor or management.
- Performs material and packing inventory when instructed by supervisor or management.
- Performing other duties as instructed by supervisor or management.

Required Education and/or Experience:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Must be able to follow precise instructions and observe good manufacturing practices. Previous weighing and batching experience in food manufacturing (1 to 2 yrs.)
- Must be familiar with or able to learn metric system, which is used in the manufacture of Vitamin products.

- Must be able to read and write English with 50% literacy.
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to lift up to 55 LB.
- Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours.
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time
- Must be able to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, and facemask.
- Ability to work in a packaging area with a moderate powder substance in the air with or without a respirator.
- Ability to work above shoulders.
- Other physical requirements include frequent squatting, bending, twisting, and bi-lateral wrist movement.
- Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas.
- Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
