Production Planning Supervisor (Scheduler)

Overview
The Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling production schedules to support on-time delivery, optimize plant capacity, and ensure alignment between customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capabilities. This role partners closely with Sales, Order Entry, Production, Shipping, and Supply Chain to maintain schedule integrity and drive operational performance.

This position is responsible for proactively managing constraints, identifying risks to delivery, adjusting priorities as conditions change, and improving scheduling processes and system discipline within FeneVision.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Production Scheduling & Planning

· Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on demand, capacity, labor, and material availability.

· Sequence orders to optimize throughput and reduce bottlenecks.

· Balance workload across Cutting, Laminating, Tempering, IG, and Shipping.

· Monitor schedule adherence and adjust plans to address disruptions.

· Develop recovery plans when schedules fall behind.

Schedule Control & Delivery Performance

· Support achievement of On-Time Delivery (OTD) goals.

· Identify at-risk orders and escalate issues proactively.

· Review open orders and prioritize critical demand.

· Partner with operations leadership to remove barriers impacting delivery.

· Support accurate promise dates and revised ship-date management.

ERP / System Management

· Maintain scheduling data integrity in FeneVision.

· Manage scheduling parameters, load planning, and capacity controls.

· Generate and analyze schedule performance reports.

· Drive improvements in scheduling workflows and system discipline.

Leadership & Coordination

· Supervise and support scheduling activities within the department.

· Coordinate priorities across departments and communicate changes effectively.

· Participate in daily management and production review meetings.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning and flow.

Required Qualifications

· Minimum 5 years of production scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment (required).

· Supervisory or leadership experience required.

· Experience in make-to-order manufacturing preferred.

· ERP/MRP scheduling experience required.

· Experience with FeneVision or like ERP strongly preferred.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency in Excel and production reporting tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
