Position Summary

The Production Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of production work orders to ensure on-time completion of customer sales orders. This role involves converting sales orders into accurate work orders within our ERP system (Global Shop Solutions), balancing workloads across departments, and working closely with the operations and production teams to maintain efficient shop scheduling and material availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review customer sales orders (SOs) and generate accurate work orders (WOs) in the ERP system.
  • Develop and maintain the production schedule to meet promised delivery dates.
  • Track WO progress and adjust schedules to resolve capacity or resource conflicts.
  • Prepare and distribute daily/weekly schedules to each work center or department.
  • Presents schedules during weekly production meetings.
  • Monitor labor capacity and align production schedules with available resources.
  • Troubleshoot issues with WOs or SOs such as missing information, incorrect part numbers or BOMs, router issues, and date corrections. Coordinates with operations, purchasing, and production teams as needed.
  • Update and maintain WOs within Global Shop to reflect accurate quantities, due dates, and statuses.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure materials and components are available to meet production requirements.
  • Generate and maintain capacity and production reports to support management decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to prioritize jobs and ensure on-time delivery of all customer orders.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with ERP or MRP systems (Global Shop Solutions experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple departments.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn production processes.
  • Experience or education in manufacturing, industrial management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site in a hands-on manufacturing environment, which includes metal fabrication, welding, and assembly areas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
