Position Summary: Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating and optimizing converting machines and support equipment of industrial plant by performing the following duties personally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To be successful in this role, an individual must satisfactorily fulfill the following responsibilities; additional duties may be assigned as necessary.   • Prepare, participate, and at times lead SMART meetings.
  • Assigning employees to the respective machines, if necessary, redistributing them in the event of malfunctions or order changes
  • Follows the schedule set by Detail Planners and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Facilitate shift handovers by ensuring clear communication of updates between outgoing and incoming teams.
  • Proactively plans and ensures that all machines are stocked with necessary supplies to fulfill scheduled production orders.
  • Check and sign off completed orders.
  • Correction and cancellation of incorrectly booked orders.
  • Performs Gamba walks (quality, width, labels, orders, and machines are checked during the tour)
  • Quality controls during ongoing production (random checks)
  • Monitor machine status and make sure the correct MES codes ae being used.
  • Offer support for machine and process issues, ensuring effective operations and prompt problem resolution
  • Promptly report machine malfunctions to the Maintenance team to ensure timely repairs and minimize production disruptions.
  • Recognize and eliminate hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational and operational safety.
  • Keeping production notes / Shift Handover app
  • Hand out work materials (e.g., finger lift, blades, labels, etc.)
  • Submit all internal complaints in the BabtecQ system
  • Evaluation of employees
  • Setup time optimization/scrap optimization/Key Performance Indicator optimization
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.


Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a relevant field, with at least five years of related experience and/or training, including demonstrated leadership

Language Ability:

Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. The role involves presenting information and answering questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public. Proficiency in English is necessary; German language skills are an asset.

Reasoning Ability:

Demonstrate sound judgment and comprehension to execute instructions presented in written, verbal, or diagrammatic formats. Manage problems that involve multiple tangible variables within standardized scenarios.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat, MES, SAP, and Babtec.

Certificates and Licenses:

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt preferred


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises at least two employees. Supervisory duties are performed following the organization's policies and relevant laws. These responsibilities include training staff, organizing, and assigning tasks, evaluating work performance, managing rewards and disciplinary actions, and handling complaints or problem resolution.

Travel:

This role may be required to travel to the company’s headquarters in Germany for training purposes during the first year of employment or at other times if necessary.
