About the Role
The Shift Supervisor – Production will be responsible for managing end-to-end production operations during the assigned shift. This includes achieving production targets, maintaining quality, ensuring safety and SOP compliance, troubleshooting equipment/process issues, and controlling manpower. The role requires hands-on experience in solar module manufacturing and strong shift leadership skills.
Responsibilities

Production & Process Control
-
Supervise module line operations: glass loading, stringing, layup, lamination, framing, junction box attachment, EL/IV/Hi-Pot testing, and packing.

Ensure daily throughput and cycle time adherence to meet shift targets.

Monitor OEE and implement corrective measures to reduce downtime and scrap.
Troubleshooting & Coordination

Lead first-level troubleshooting of equipment issues (mechanical/electrical/process).

Coordinate with Maintenance for breakdowns and ensure quick resolution.

Address process deviations immediately to avoid quality loss.
Quality & SOP Adherence

Enforce compliance with process SOPs, work instructions, and quality checks.

Ensure shift-wise adherence to visual inspection, EL, IV, and Hi-Pot testing protocols.

Prevent defective modules from moving forward; escalate issues promptly.
Safety & Cleanroom Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to EHS standards, lockout-tagout, PPE usage, and safe handling.

Maintain cleanroom discipline (dust, humidity, temperature control).

Report and act on safety incidents or near misses during shift.
Manpower Control & Team Leadership

Lead a team of operators and technicians during the shift.

Plan and allocate manpower across different production stages.

Conduct shift briefings, ensure smooth handovers, and maintain discipline.

Train and mentor operators for skill enhancement and SOP compliance.
Reporting & Documentation

Maintain shift production logs, downtime reports, scrap/rejection data, and manpower utilization records.

Present shift performance data to Operations Head in reviews.

Track and improve shift-level KPIs: OEE, yield, scrap %, manpower productivity, safety compliance.
Qualifications
-
Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Production Engineering.

5–8 years of experience in solar module manufacturing (mandatory).

Hands-on experience in module production lines & troubleshooting.

Strong background in shift leadership and manpower control.
