CTS Cement is searching for a Production Supervisor who will oversee the production operations of our facility located in 23876 Hwy J #6139, Mexico, MO 65265. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position that reports to the Production Manager. Responsibilities and requirements are shown below.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Take a personal interest in personal and team safety. Continuously look for ways to improve safety and assist others to do the same.
  • Utilize all safety equipment, personal or otherwise, required by the company and follow all company guidelines and safety standards.
  • Conduct plant wide safety meetings as scheduled.
  • Assist in creating and publishing Weekly Production and Staffing Schedules.
  • Facilitate Toolbox Safety Talks and Kick-off Meetings at start of each shift with entire crew – outlining goals and activities of the day.
  • Assist in the review and addressing any outstanding safety / environment / quality issues.
  • Conduct daily plant walk-through from Top to Bottom and through each work area. Document findings in a Workplace Exam and address issues as needed.
  • Assist in periodic cycle count or inventories of finished goods, raw material and other plant items.
  • Ensure plant housekeeping standards are met.
  • Review & coordinate day and week’s production goals for each area.
  • Provide hands-on supervision of production lines and all work areas throughout the day.
  • Ensure employee productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure timely employee break periods.
  • Address poor employee performance through progressive discipline as needed.
  • Be a visible and routine presence in all areas of the operation.
  • This job may require shift work, callouts, scheduled and unscheduled hours.
  • Employee may have work schedule adjusted on short notice.
  • All other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Higher education certificates a plus.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Previous cement, concrete, laboratory, or manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Good safety and attendance record.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents including but not limited to safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and lab procedure manuals.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Self-starter and works well independently.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and comfortable working with equipment.
  • Good basic math skills, arithmetic, and basic algebra.
  • Excellent organizational skills.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee will frequently be required to walk on rocky, irregular surfaces that may be muddy and in reduced lighting conditions. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to dust. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, confined space, outside weather conditions, low lighting and artificial lighting. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, heat, proximity to electrical equipment, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
