Overview
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of production lines and personnel, ensuring that manufacturing goals related to safety, quality, and output are met. This position leads, trains, and supports line operators and works cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, and Planning teams to maintain a safe, productive, and compliant production environment. The Production Supervisor enforces GMP standards, drives productivity improvements, and ensures adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities for assigned shifts or lines.
- Ensure that employees follow safety, quality, and production protocols.
- Monitor production output, ensure line readiness, and coordinate line setups and changeovers.
- Train, coach, and develop line staff to meet production goals and maintain compliance with SOPs and GMPs.
- Conduct regular line inspections to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to troubleshoot issues and improve workflow.
- Track and report production data, downtime, and labor metrics; assist in root cause analysis of performance issues.
- Support investigations related to product deviations or safety incidents.
- Ensure shift handoffs are properly communicated, and production documentation is accurate and complete.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Directly supervises Line Leads and Production Operators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proven experience in manufacturing or production supervision with a strong understanding of production processes.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to changing needs.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce compliance with policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic understanding of ERP systems.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in cosmetics, personal care, or FDA-regulated industries.
- Experience leading production teams and enforcing GMP and safety standards.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- May be required to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, reach, and navigate stairs in a production environment.
- Work is performed on the production floor in a manufacturing setting.
- Exposure to machinery, noise, and cleaning chemicals.
- Use of PPE is required.

Pay Range: 75k-95k
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
