Position Information: The Production Supervisor assists with overseeing the daily operations and performance of production department associates. Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees working in production and processing including scheduling, breaks, production goals, attendance, work quality, etc. Helps to ensure that all operations meet quality standards, productivity goals, and compliance with company policies and safety regulations. This role is vital in ensuring efficient workflows, meeting and/or exceeding productivity, safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals, and ensuring the department operates according to established company policies and procedures, maintaining safety standards, while supervising a team. Expected to cover any shift as requested by Managers. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of driving performance and fostering a collaborative and productive environment. This role will actively work in any area as requested, when not actively engaged in supervisory responsibilities, reducing idle time and managing time efficiently.
Essential Position Functions:
- 
Direct, coordinate and monitor the daily activities and performance of production associates to assure delivery of high productivity, quality, customer service and compliance of standard company policies, procedures, and safety.
- 
Supervise employee performance through motivation, delegation, development, mentoring and resolving conflict.
- 
Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and following company policy.
- 
Conduct regular department or pre-shift meetings to foster employee engagement, communicate any changes to company policies and procedures, address employee concerns, foster idea-sharing and suggestions for improvement.
- 
Participate in staff selection, performance and compensation evaluations, corrective action and terminations, as necessary.
- 
Evaluate and interpret business demand, prioritize, and distribute daily work assignments.
- 
Establish line assignment and staffing depending on the line priority list.
- 
Determine and monitor workstation assignments/rotation, associate breaks and required overtime.
- 
Meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
- 
Monitor and maintain inventory levels in the material handling and production areas by using a warehouse management system (WMS).
- 
Review and record all production documentation.
- 
Provide and maintain a safe work environment by directing safety training, generating, and reviewing standard operating procedures (SOP).
- 
Coordinate efforts with the safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, updating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections.

Supervise Production Associates, and have considerable knowledge and experience, in these duties and functions:

Onsite fresh cut fruit and vegetable processing

Organize stock and maintain inventory

Check, verify and fill customer orders

Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize procedures

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 
Knowledge of operations of a fast-paced, busy processing and production environment involving fresh foods, produce.
- 
Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems with prior experience in Warehouse, Logistics and accurate Inventory Management
- 
Driven and self-motivated, with sound judgment
- 
Knowledge of Inventory counts and cycles
- 
Ability to communicate clearly and courteously in all instances
- 
Ability to manage people with responsibility for machinery, equipment and inventory
- 
Ability to effectively multi-task and make quick, rational decisions

Ability to speak, read and understand English.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills are necessary to perform at a high degree of proficiency.

Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to learn and apply guest supply technology software and programs (i.e., Warehouse Management System).
Education & Experience:
- 
High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent degree; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 
3-5 years of processing/production experience.
- 
Past experience of successfully Leading and Supervising a team of employees

Physical Demands:
- 
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other equipment, and telephone to talk and hear.

Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.

Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and lift up to 20 pounds.
- 
Must be able to work in a damp or refrigerated environment and lift up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis. Ability to pass a physical agility test, post-offer.
Work Environment:
Production warehouse and office environment. Constant temperature changes from office to refrigerator/freezer warehouse and processing environment.
Supervision:
 This position has Supervisory responsibility of the production associate team.
- 
This position guides the work of others and is directed by the Manager. This position receives Supervision from Production Managers. In most cases, Manager outlines steps involved in completing assignments, or standard procedures are available to enable the employee to work in a routine fashion. The end results of this work are sometimes checked.
