Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs electrical wiring of CNC grinding machines
-
Performs set-up and leveling of machines
-
Assembles and disassembles machines and prepares them for shipment
-
Performs machine start-ups
-
Performs basic machine installation (hardware)
-
Performs de-bugging on machines and tests operation
-
Repairs and/or constructs machine components using welding or other machine tool techniques
-
May be required to pack and unpack machines from large assembled crates
-
May be required to perform facility maintenance and repair (including corporate office painting, phone and PC wiring, office relocations, etc.)

Participates and attends training using hands-on, job shadowing or formal classes to be able to become cross-functional in most aspects of the MST position
-
Participates in hands-on or formal training or job shadowing to be able to perform the functions of a level IV MST.

Will be encouraged and given the opportunity to learn the responsibilities of a UGA Service Engineer, Technical Advisor, or Applications Engineer with the purpose of ascending in their career at UGA
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience in Related Field, Skills, etc.):
-
High School Diploma or Equivalent
-
5-10 years intermediate to advanced electrical and/or mechanical knowledge
-
5-10 years intermediate to advanced knowledge of CNC grinding machine components, repair and assembly, wiring, sheet metal working, machine plumbing apparatus, power tools, lathes, welding equipment and drill press operation
-
Fork truck operation certification
-
Crane operation certification
-
Basic to Intermediate PC and Microsoft Office skills
Preferred Qualifications (Certificates, Training, Licenses, and Experience):
-
Associate’s degree or Technical School graduate with an emphasis in mechanical or electrical engineering.

Advanced machining experience
-
Advanced manufacturing knowledge
-
Ability to use inspection tools
-
Ability to interpret blue prints
-
Ability to interpret schematics (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic) to be able to de-bug and assemble machines
-
Basic to intermediate Industrial and/or Commercial Painting Experience
Other (Supervisory Responsibilities, Physical Demands, Travel):

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

Periodic overnight domestic and international travel may be required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
