Job Description

Hemphill Contracting LLC is hiring a Production Utility Operator to support underground utility and construction operations. This role is ideal for a dependable, hands-on worker who can operate equipment, assist crews, and keep production moving efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate construction and utility equipment as assigned (mini excavators, skid steers, compact equipment, etc.)
• Assist with underground utility installation and repair
• Support HDD, trenching, and excavation crews
• Load, unload, and transport materials and tools
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Maintain job site cleanliness and organization
• Follow OSHA and company safety policies at all times

Requirements

• Construction or utility experience preferred
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate construction equipment
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in underground utilities (water, sewer, electric, fiber)
• Equipment operation experience
• HDD or locating experience
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification (a plus)
