The Role:

Your Mission: As our next Professional Biller II, you will be responsible for the accurate and compliant billing of claims across various payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, United Health Care, NYS No-Fault, and Worker’s Compensation. Your role is crucial in ensuring that claims are submitted correctly, addressing and resolving claim rejections, and adhering to payer guidelines, policies, and compliance regulations.

You will need to handle multiple priorities, resolve issues with incomplete claims, and manage payer and clearinghouse rejections efficiently. Strong attention to detail, methodical work habits, and excellent organizational skills are essential to achieve daily performance goals. You will also be a resource for the Professional Biller I, providing expertise and support.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day:

Billing Expertise: Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely billing for Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurers, and other payers. Handle adjustments and voided claims as needed.

Claim Management: Resolve claim rejections, address incomplete claims, and manage claim-related edits to ensure accuracy.

Documentation: Attach necessary documents for manual claims, including ER reports, itemized bills, and medical records.

Performance Metrics: Consistently meet performance, productivity, and quality goals, including maintaining a 98% accuracy rate and processing 125 claims per day (initially for 6 months and then monthly thereafter).

Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a resource for Professional Biller I, offering guidance and support.

Technical Skills: Utilize Excel, Word, Outlook, and billing/eligibility software proficiently.

Compliance: Adhere to federal, state, and physician billing requirements related to compliance. Maintain flexibility in your work schedule to adapt to departmental needs.

Who You Are & What You’ll Bring

Proven Track Record:

5 years of billing experience in a physician billing environment, or High School diploma with 7 years of billing experience in a physician billing environment.

Previously held the role of Biller I Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

High level of accountability and adherence to performance metrics.

Education/Certifications:

Associate’s Degree in a related field or a High School diploma with 2 additional years of relevant experience. Certified Professional Biller is preferred.

Technical Savvy:

Revenue Cycle Systems Knowledge: Understanding of billing platforms and claim workflows.

Experience with Epic is a plus.

Travel Requirements: No travel required

Physical Readiness: Capability for sedentary work, including sitting for long periods and occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force.
