Wise Steps Consulting has been hired to support a thoughtful family in Afton, VA in finding a warm, dependable nanny to care for their infant beginning this June.

This family is seeking a caregiver who is nurturing, engaging, and excited to support a young child’s growth and development in a loving home environment. They are hoping to find someone who is looking for a long-term fit and who values becoming a trusted and consistent part of a family’s rhythm.

The ideal candidate is attentive, communicative, dependable, and comfortable supporting infant care while also creating opportunities for enrichment, play, and regular outings. This family is looking for someone who can provide strong care, bring a calm and positive presence into the home, and help create a safe, supportive, and developmentally rich environment.

This is an in-home position located in Afton, VA and is open to candidates who currently live within a reasonable commuting distance. Nannies are hired directly by the family, while Wise Steps Consulting supports the search, matching, and onboarding process.

Summary of Duties

Responsibilities for this role include:

• Providing attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for an infant in a private home
• Supporting daily routines including feeding, naps, play, and age-appropriate engagement
• Creating opportunities for enrichment through play, reading, outdoor time, and regular outings
• Preparing food for the child and cleaning up after meals/snacks
• Helping reset child-related clutter and maintain an organized environment throughout the day
• Supporting a low-screen-time environment with thoughtful and intentional use when appropriate
• Letting the family dog out periodically during the day
• Communicating regularly and professionally with parents regarding routines, needs, and day-to-day updates
• Respecting the family’s home, values, and preferences while contributing to a warm and positive caregiving environment

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
