Job Summary:
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at [Institution Name] invites applications for the post of Professor to lead and strengthen academic, clinical, and research activities. The ideal candidate will be a senior faculty member with substantial teaching experience, clinical expertise, and a strong background in research and publication. Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Academic Duties:
- Deliver high-quality teaching to MBBS, MD/MS, and nursing students in OBG.
- Guide and supervise postgraduate theses/dissertations and research projects.
- Prepare academic lesson plans, modules, and clinical case discussions.
- Participate in curriculum development and implementation.
- Conduct and coordinate internal assessments, university exams, and clinical evaluations.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide expert patient care in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology, including surgeries and deliveries.
- Supervise and guide junior doctors, interns, and residents in clinical settings.
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, ethics, and medical professionalism.
- Take part in on-call duty rotation as required by the department.
- Assist in the operation and management of labor rooms, OT, OPD, and inpatient wards.
Research & Publications:
- Undertake independent and collaborative research projects in OBG.
- Publish in indexed peer-reviewed journals (as per NMC/MCI norms).
- Guide PG students and junior faculty in academic writing and research methodologies.
- Apply for research grants and collaborate with external academic or research bodies.
Administrative & Leadership:
- Lead departmental meetings, audits, and academic planning activities.
- Support accreditation, regulatory inspections (e.g., NMC/MCI), and institutional reviews.
- Mentor Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and residents in career development.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and faculty development programs.
Qualifications: Essential:
- MBBS from a recognized institution.
- MD/MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from a recognized university.
- Registration with the State Medical Council or Medical Council of India (NMC).
- Minimum 4 years of experience as an Associate Professor in OBG (as per NMC norms).
- At least 4–5 publications in indexed journals during the tenure as Associate Professor.
