General Description:
The Residential Program Assistant provides direct services to clients in the residential program. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, facilitating recovery-oriented groups and activities, and maintaining the daily activities calendar. This role also involves coordinating client attendance at support group meetings, performing required administrative documentation, and assisting with meal preparation, cleaning, and filing. While primarily based at the Residential Treatment Program, duties may occasionally be performed at other locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Assessment and Care:
- Assess and identify client needs.
- Perform vital sign monitoring and supervise medication administration.
- Conduct regular client checks and hourly bed checks during midnight shifts.
Program Coordination:
- Maintain and manage the daily activities calendar.
- Coordinate transportation for clients to recovery support group meetings and appointments.
- Facilitate non-therapeutic group meetings as needed.
Administrative Duties:
- Document client information and administrative details accurately and according to policies.
- Ensure all required documentation for assigned clients is completed and maintained.
Facility and Safety Management:
- Assist with meal preparation, cleaning, and general facility upkeep.
- Supervise clients to ensure safety and adherence to program rules.
Training and Professional Development:
- Participate in general staff activities, including meetings, in-services, and training.
- Successfully complete and stay current with all required training.
Emergency Response:
- Take lead in urgent or emergent situations in the absence of the Residential Program Manager, following management policies.
Additional Duties:
- Participate in performance reviews and undertake other duties as assigned by the Residential Program Manager.
- Adapt to varying duties during midnight shifts as assigned by the Program Manager.
Position Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: Experience in social work or a related field and/or addiction certification is preferred.
- Skills: Ability to read, write, and efficiently document in administrative and client records.
- Licensure: Must have a current and valid driver’s license for limited driving duties.
Expectations:
- This position will be full-time and take place during the midnight shift (12 A.M. - 8 A.M.). The midnight shift will receive a $1.00 per hour shift incentive.
- The employee must exercise sound judgment in client care, maintain confidentiality, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- The role requires the ability to provide a safe, structured environment with a therapeutic component, linkage to community resources, and promotion of recovery.
Performance Reviews:
Written and verbal reviews will be conducted annually and/or as appropriate. The Residential Program Manager will complete the performance review and will meet with the employee to read and discuss this review. A copy will be given to the employee and the original will be kept in the employee file in a locked cabinet.
Pay: From $16.20 per hour
