PROGRAM DIRECTOR, LMSW: WDSS PRORGAM

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Program Director is responsible for the overall administration of the Providence House Westchester Department of Social Service (WDSS); this includes the supervision of the Case Manager, Residence Managers and other staff with programmatic responsibilities. The Program Director is responsible for the coordination of client services, staff training and development, implementation of program policies and procedures and summary reports to appropriate NYS and NYC agencies.

SUPERVISION

Supervised by: Senior Director of Programs

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises program staff to include completing probationary and annual evaluations, conducting monthly case reviews with staff, provides crisis management.
  • Facilitates staff communication through ongoing contacts and periodic meetings to discuss program issues and matters of mutual concern.
  • Responsible for monitoring program census and coordinating client referrals.
  • Maintains regular communication with contract agencies that pertain to residents referred by these agencies. Attends all required meetings and completes all required administrative paperwork from the above agencies.
  • Networks with appropriate agencies, organizations and individuals for the purpose of sharing resources and engaging in collective advocacy for women and children who are homeless.
  • Facilitates communication with the core community regarding matters of mutual concern.
  • Responsible for the execution of agency policies and procedures in the residence.
  • Participates in administrative team meetings, and completes necessary follow-ups.
  • Collaborates with the Senior Director of Human Resources and Chief Operations Officer on all human resource activities.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Maintenance and Building Operations and Chief Operations Officer on all matters of concern regarding building and facility management.
  • Effectively use and practice Sanctuary Models tools; safety plans, community meetings, psycho-educational groups, team meetings, red flags reviews, and self-care in the program to create a non-violent and trauma sensitive culture.
  • Promote and model the core values of Providence House Mission (Compassion, Non-Violence, Hospitality, and Community) and the Seven Sanctuary Model Commitments to create a non-violent and trauma sensitive culture.
  • Integrate the Sanctuary Model SELF (Safety, Emotional Management, Loss and Future) framework into daily practice to ensure quality care and an effective work environment.
  • Meets for regular supervision and performs other tasks as assigned by the Senior Director of Programs.

Team/Staff Relations

  • Work as a Providence House team member with all staff and volunteers in order to implement the mission and core values of the agency.
  • Conduct regular internal and external agency meetings.
  • Work as part of team to plan and develop resident’s programs.

Administrative

  • Ensures that clinical staff keeps accurate, up-to-date documentation on all clients. Including but not limited to, treatment plans, case notes, etc.
  • Ensures that clinical staff completes all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner that ensures payment to the agency from various sources.
  • Assists with any and all data collection systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • LMSW in Social Work or a related field required;
  • Minimum 5 years in program supervision and administration;
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Computer Literate;
  • Experience in working with homeless families and knowledge of city/state/government funding programs;
  • Experience with client databases;
  • Ability to travel within the NYC and Westchester areas;
  • Compatible philosophy with the Providence House mission.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • The Program Director position is a full time, salaried position.
  • Hours worked will be weekdays at least 9:00a.m. - 5:00p.m, or at a mutually agreed-upon schedule. Evening and/or weekend work also may be required.
  • The office location will be in New Rochelle, New York.
  • Position requires travel throughout NYC and Westchester areas.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The starting salary range is $75K - $85K Annually based on qualifications and experience. Reimbursement for mileage expenses to locations beyond the initial worksite. Paid time off benefits include: 14 paid holidays, 3 weeks of vacation, 4 personal days, 12 sick days, early closure proceeding holidays.
