Position Overview

Female Strong is seeking qualified Program Facilitators to support our signature camps and entrepreneurship programming throughout the year. This contract, as-needed role is ideal for educators, retired teachers, or undergraduate education students who are passionate about inspiring young women through experiential learning.

Facilitators will lead interactive activities, support guest speakers, and ensure an engaging, safe, and positive experience for participants. Training will be provided to ensure consistency across all programs.

  • Commitment: Seasonal, as-needed basis. Programs primarily occur on summer week-days or on school holidays and select Saturdays throughout the academic year.
  • Transportation: Reliable personal transportation throughout the Greater Boston Area is required for program delivery and transport of materials. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
  • Compensation: $280 flat rate per program, and $35 an hour for required trainings. Each camp averages 8 hours of on-site facilitation.

Program Dates: Availability for the following dates and general schedule is required to be considered for the role. Additional Camps to be scheduled, typically with 3-months notice.

  • Tuesday, July 14, 8am-4pm (North Billerica, MA 01862)
  • Tuesday, July 28, 8am-4pm (Boston, MA 02116)
  • Thursday, August 6, 8am-4pm (Boston, MA 02110)
  • Monday, October 12, 8am-4pm (Boston, MA 02109)
  • Camps are typically scheduled for summer weekdays, Saturdays year-round, and dates of non-attendance for students.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging, hands-on activities aligned with Female Strong’s mission.
  • Support and guide students ages 8 -12 during each session or workshop.
  • Create an inclusive, encouraging environment for diverse groups of students.
  • Work closely with guest speakers, mentors, and program staff to ensure smooth program execution.
  • Assist with pre-program preparation (reviewing materials, understanding curriculum, materials pick-up).
  • Provide post-program feedback to improve future programming.
  • Store and transport materials for each program commitment.

Qualifications

  • Education students, current teachers, or retired educators are encouraged to apply.
  • At least 2 years of experience in teaching or program facilitation, particularly with diverse and varied audiences.
  • Strong ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation to various program locations in the greater Boston area.
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude, with a strong commitment to the organizational mission.
  • Act as a Female Strong brand ambassador, representing the organization positively and energetically to constituents, parents, volunteers, and corporate partners.

Please Note: This role is subject to a 90-day trial period, which includes successful completion of training and initial program facilitation. During training, performance and fit will be assessed. If the facilitator is not a fit based on performance, Female Strong reserves the right to end the contract at any time.
