Position Overview
The Program Operations Manager plays a key role in ensuring FAN-DC’s youth programming runs smoothly, safely, and effectively. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position oversees the day-to-day operations of FAN-DC’s afterschool, summer, and peer-led programming.
This role combines program coordination, staff support, youth engagement, transportation, data tracking, and limited administrative support to the Executive Director. While the position supports multiple functions, the primary responsibility is ensuring consistent, high-quality program implementation and youth safety.
This position is in-person and requires local travel throughout Washington, DC. Because FAN-DC serves youth across the city, a significant component of the role includes safely transporting youth participants to and from programming and community activities.
Key Responsibilities/Program Operations
· Coordinate the daily implementation of FAN-DC’s afterschool, summer, and peer-led programming
· Manage program schedules, activities, and operational logistics
· Ensure program spaces remain safe, welcoming, and organized
· Facilitate workshops, activities, and group discussions that support youth development and wellness
Staff Coordination and Support
· Provide day-to-day functional supervision and support for Youth Peer Specialists, interns, and volunteers
· Support staff scheduling, onboarding, and ongoing communication
· Provide performance feedback and participate in planning and staffing discussions with the Executive Director
· Participate in regular program planning and coordination meetings
Data Management and Grant Support
· Track program participation, attendance, and outcomes
· Maintain accurate and timely records within Cityspan or similar program tracking systems
· Support grant compliance by assisting with data collection and reporting requirements
· Familiarity with Cityspan or similar youth program data systems is preferred
Transportation and Youth Safety
· Safely transport youth participants to and from program activities, field trips, and events using FAN-DC’s 15-passenger van
· Maintain transportation logs and complete basic vehicle safety checks
· Follow all FAN-DC transportation, safety, and emergency procedures
· Meet organizational and insurance requirements for driving on behalf of FAN-DC
Administrative Support
· Provide administrative and operational support to the Executive Director as needed, including scheduling, coordination, and basic documentation support
· Assist with internal organization and communication to support efficient program operations
Community Engagement
· Support communication with caregivers and community partners
· Represent FAN-DC at community meetings and events as needed

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in youth development, social work, education, psychology, or a related field, or equivalent lived and professional experience
· At least two (2) years of experience working with youth or in community-based programs
· Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
· Experience with program documentation, data entry, or evaluation
· Familiarity with Cityspan or similar youth program tracking systems preferred
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
· Ability to safely operate a 15-passenger van
· Commitment to trauma-informed practices and FAN-DC’s mission
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position requires regular in-person engagement with youth and staff and may involve sitting or standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying supplies up to approximately 25 pounds, driving for extended periods, and responding to emergency situations involving youth safety.

Compensation and Benefits
· Salary: $55,000 annually
· 100% employer-paid health insurance for the employee (if coverage is elected)
· Two weeks of paid winter break when programs pause
· Three weeks of paid vacation annually
· Accrued paid sick leave
· Flexible scheduling outside of program hours when youth participants are not onsite
