Project Accountant

We are seeking a sharp, commercially-minded Project Accountant to join our team in Ar Rayyan.

In this role, you will be the financial co-pilot for our project managers. You won’t just be recording costs—you’ll be analyzing margins, managing cash flows, and ensuring that every project we undertake is as profitable as it is impactful.

Your Mission

• Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee the financial health of multiple projects from inception to close-out, ensuring all costs and revenues are accurately tracked.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with Project Managers to develop realistic budgets and provide monthly variance analysis to keep projects on track.
• Cost Control: Monitor project expenditures, including labor, materials, and sub-contractor costs, identifying potential overruns before they happen.
• Revenue Recognition: Ensure all invoicing is completed in accordance with contract milestones and IFRS 15 standards.
• Contract Review: Analyze commercial terms in contracts to ensure financial risks are mitigated and billing cycles are optimized.
• Reporting: Prepare comprehensive project profitability reports and cash flow forecasts for the senior leadership team.
• Audit Support: Maintain airtight documentation for project-specific audits and ensure compliance with Qatar’s tax regulations (VAT).

The Profile We’re Looking For

• Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years specifically in Project Accounting. Experience in Trading, Construction, or Supply Chain is highly preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Credentials: CMA or ACCA part-qualified/qualified is a significant advantage.
• Technical Savvy: Expert proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Odoo) and a mastery of Excel for data-driven storytelling.
• Commercial Acumen: You understand that project accounting is about more than just data—it’s about understanding the "why" behind the numbers.
• Language: Professional fluency in English; Arabic is a plus for coordinating with local vendors and authorities.
