The Role
We're hiring a Project Accountant to own the financial tracking and reporting across our active project portfolio. You'll work closely with project managers, partners, and vendors to keep the numbers accurate and the team informed. This is a hands-on role with real visibility into the business.
What You'll Do
- Track job costs and budgets across multiple active residential projects
- Process draws, subcontractor pay applications, and lien waivers
- Manage accounts payable and receivable for project-level activity
- Maintain and reconcile project budgets vs. actuals, flagging variances early
- Work closely with project managers on budget changes, cost-to-complete analyses, change orders, and cost coding
- Prepare and compile monthly WIP (work-in-progress) schedules and cost-to-complete reports
- Support reporting, including draw packages and compliance documentation
- Assist with month and year-end close and audit support as needed
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, real estate development, or a related industry
- Working knowledge of job cost accounting and construction billing (pay apps, lien waivers, etc.).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Clear communicator who can work with both field and office teams
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
- Ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Points
- Experience with residential homebuilding or land development
- Familiarity with Texas lien law and construction contract basics
- Experience supporting construction loan draws and lender reporting
- Experience with software such as Adaptive, Procore, Buildertrend

- $60k-$70k annual salary, commensurate with experience
