MissionHires is hiring a Project Controls Analyst (Construction & Engineering) to safeguard project margins and strengthen financial discipline across complex, long-cycle projects. Partnering closely with Project Management, Finance, and cross-functional teams, you’ll own cost control, forecasting, commercial compliance, and executive reporting for fixed-price and hybrid contract environments—driving early risk identification, recovery planning, and data-backed decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
How You'll Contribute

Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete analyses

Track actuals vs. budget; identify and escalate margin erosion risks

Support earned value analysis and monthly WIP adjustments at the project level

Monitor labor productivity, subcontractor performance, and material cost trends

Support contract setup and ongoing commercial administration

Track change orders, scope growth, claims, and commercial recoveries
-
Monitor contingency usage, risk transfer exposure, and liquidated damages risk

Coordinate payment and performance bond issuance and underwriting documentation

Track bond requirements, renewals, and releases per contract milestones

Manage Certificates of Insurance and verify coverage limits/endorsements

Track and support procurement of required permits, licenses, and approvals

Maintain compliance tracking tied to bonding, insurance, and regulatory obligations

Prepare monthly forecasts, cash flow projections, and margin outlooks
-
Develop concise executive and project team reporting and dashboards

Provide scenario analysis for cost overruns, schedule delays, and recovery plans
-
Integrate cost and schedule data to enhance project controls visibility

Identify early warning indicators for schedule slippage and productivity loss

Support mitigation planning with Project Managers and leadership

Partner with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, and Accounting

Support internal project reviews, audits, and risk committees

Contribute to continuous improvement of project controls tools and systems
What Makes You a Great Fit

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
-
3–7+ years in project controls, cost control, or project financial management
-
Direct experience supporting design-build projects

Strong Excel and financial modeling skills

Experience with ERP/project systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sage Intacct, or similar)

Understanding of cost forecasting, earned value, and margin management

Experience with fixed-price/lump-sum EPC contracts

Exposure to claims management, change orders, and commercial negotiations

Background in energy, industrial, infrastructure, or large commercial projects (baggage/material handling a plus)

Excellent communication skills and sound judgment
