Summary

This position is an integral part of a project team and works on all aspects of the design process. This individual develops complete functional design concepts and utilizes technology to portray ideas for client presentation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Interacts with clients regularly and comfortably on projects
  • Supports construction field team by reviewing shop drawing and readily responding to questions
  • Works under the direction of senior level staff or architectural associates on multiple projects at one time
  • Develops and interprets programmatic information and develop space plans
  • Plans, designs, and furnishes the interiors of corporate, healthcare or housing projects
  • Formulates designs that are practical, aesthetically pleasing, and conducive to intended purposes such as raising productivity, creating spaces for those with special needs, and improving the health, safety, and welfare of the public
  • Performs routine on-site field verification tasks
  • Supports business development activities through assistance with presentations and prospective project pitches
  • Meets with clients independently to present design solutions
  • Participates in marketing events as requested by senior staff
Requirements:

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Degree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ design experience
  • Excellent computer skills with AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and rendering software
  • Additional accreditation such as NCIDQ, CID, LEED or WELL preferred
  • Highly skilled at assembling interior design solutions, conceptual design details and interior design schemes.
  • Proficient in the creation of construction drawing packages with limited guidance
  • Solid construction knowledge and visual design portrayal·
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes and their project application·
  • Highly proficient in space planning process, including layouts and ADA requirements.

  • Navigate construction sites·
  • Sit, talk, hear and reach with hands and arms· Use hands to finger, handle and feel objects and controls·
  • Regularly stand and walk·
  • Occasionally, bend or reach above shoulders·
  • Regularly lift 10 lbs. and occasionally, lift or move up to 25 lbs.·
  • Vision required: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception & focus.

May require climbing ladders and stairs during construction phases of a project, looking above ceiling tiles and maneuvering into challenging places, to field verify exterior and interior spaces. While on construction sites, employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Office setting is pleasant and comfortable with open workstations and a few offices and small conference areas. No known hazards.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting base salary range for this position is $65,00-$75,000, depending on experience. BDH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including performance bonuses.
