1. Strategic Project Leadership & Delivery
- Oversee the full lifecycle of construction projects, including pre-construction, planning, execution, handover, and closeout.
- Set clear project objectives, KPIs, and delivery standards in line with client requirements and company profitability targets.
- Lead, mentor, and manage senior project teams including Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and administrative staff.
- Drive timely, on-budget project delivery while maintaining the highest quality standards and client satisfaction.
2. Commercial & Financial Management
- Own project budget oversight, cost control, cash flow management, and financial forecasting for multi-million-pound construction projects.
- Approve major contractual variations, claims, and subcontractor payments; monitor profitability and implement corrective actions for budget deviations.
- Negotiate with clients, main contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to optimize commercial terms and mitigate financial risk.
- Review and approve project financial reports, cost forecasts, and final account settlements.
3. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary senior point of contact for clients, investors, local authorities, and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships to ensure clear communication, resolve escalated issues, and secure repeat business.
- Present project progress, risks, and strategic updates to executive leadership, clients, and project boards.
4. Health, Safety, Environmental & Compliance
- Enforce strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Oversee risk assessments, method statements, and safety protocols; take ultimate accountability for a zero-harm culture on site.
- Ensure full adherence to building codes, planning regulations, contractual obligations, and quality assurance standards.
5. Risk & Contract Management
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate high-level project risks related to design, logistics, labor, materials, and external factors.
- Manage complex construction contracts (including JCT, NEC, FIDIC) and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled by all parties.
- Resolve escalated disputes, claims, and project issues in a timely and commercially responsible manner.
6. Operational Excellence & Business Development
- Collaborate with pre-construction and business development teams on tendering, feasibility, and project mobilization.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes, efficiency, and sustainability initiatives.
- Support business growth by identifying opportunities for project expansion, client retention, and new market development.
7. Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing project delivery team.
- Set performance objectives, conduct reviews, and support career development for senior project staff.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and professional working culture across all sites and project offices.
Skills
- More than 20 years working experience, not less than 5 years in Saudi Arabia. Candidates with 10 years of experience as Project Director / Project Manager in high-end building construction projects are preferred.
- Must hold SEC (Saudi Engineer Certificate). Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an internationally recognized university is minimum requirement.
- Must have experience in independently managing projects over USD 500 million. Candidates with project management experience in subsidiaries under PIF are preferred.
