Project Engineer

ARAI, Pune is a premier Automotive Research Institute, with the Ministry of Heavy Industries, involved in R&D, Homologation, Testing & Certification, Calibration & Skill Development services to Automotive and Allied industries globally.

We are looking for the following position for our Environment Research Laboratory (ERL):

Designation: Project Specific Research Engineer -Vehicle Evaluation and Testing (ARAI Contractual)

Location: Pune

Qualification: B.E./ B. Tech. /M-Tech (Mechanical/Automobile) or equivalent

Work Experience: One year of experience in vehicle testing is desirable

Candidates should possess necessary skill sets mentioned in below job description.

Job Description :

• Testing of 2W, 3W, Passenger Cars, LCV, HCV in the laboratory
• Field testing of vehicles and data collection
• Handling and preparation of test vehicles for testing in the laboratory
• Maintaining schedule of testing and coordination with laboratories
• Perform other related duties as required

Experience / Skills:

• Awareness of the vehicle testing and regulation
• Knowledge of the engine emission, combustion and measurement various tail pipe pollutants (CO, THC, NOx, NMHC, SO2, PM, PN CO2 etc.)
• Familiar with types of various legislative fuels and handling of vehicles e.g. Gasoline, CNG, Diesel, LPG for 2, 3, & 4 wheelers.
• Familiar with the emission sources with various sectors in India and contribution in the ambient air quality
• Well-versed with MS Office tools. Engine Calibration Knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Communication (Written and Verbal Communication / Technical Writing / Drafting)
• Technical background with understanding/hands-on experience in Innovation/technology / automotive sector
• Ability to maintain accurate and interrelated data records and identify and reconcile errors
• Ability to follow and effectively communicate verbal and written instructions
