Project Engineer

Description:

The Project Engineer supports the execution and delivery of energy efficiency and Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) projects. The role is responsible for technical coordination, design review, site supervision support, and ensuring energy conservation measures (ECMs) are implemented in accordance with project specifications, timelines, and performance requirements.

The Project Engineer serves as the hands and feet of the Project Manager, as his representation on project sites spanning various cities throughout Saudi Arabia. The Project Engineer works very closes with the Project Manager, engineering teams, contractors, and commissioning specialists to ensure high-quality delivery of HVAC, electrical, controls, and retrofit solutions within live operating facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Support planning and execution of energy efficiency and retrofit projects.
• Review and validate technical designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal engineering teams.
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with design, quality, safety, and schedule.
• Assist in procurement processes including technical bid evaluations.
• Track project progress and report on technical performance and milestones.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Ensure documentation, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals are completed.
• Actively oversee projects on site throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the greater GCC region.
• Oversee construction projects from conception to completion.
• Support in developing, managing and optimizing, project execution plans, schedules, budgets, cash flow, and resource plans.
• Work closely with procurement teams in ensuring project success.
• Lead the development of detailed BoQs.
• Manage contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary internal teams (engineering, procurement, commissioning, M&V).
• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, guaranteed savings obligations, HSE standards, and quality procedures.
• Support procurement, subcontractor selection, and contract administration.
• Support in managing risks, variations, and change orders, ensuring commercial and technical impacts are controlled.
• Provide regular project reporting on progress.
• Manage Teams of Supervisors, Technicians.
• Meticulous daily tracking and reporting of the daily work progress for all live projects.
• Prepare and submit all internal and external relevant reports.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and Safety officers to meet all project and client requirements.
• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

Qualifications:

• 2 to 5 years of project engineering experience in energy efficiency, ESCO, EPC, or building services projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Experience in the selection, installation and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Extremely well organized and focused professional.
• Native Arabic speaker.
• Strong in English.
