Project Engineer – Contracts & Commercials

Job Purpose

To manage contractual, commercial, and cost control aspects of real estate development projects, ensuring effective contract administration, cost optimization, and compliance with project budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Management

  • Draft, review, and administer contracts including main contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, and supplier agreements.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with company policies and UAE legal requirements.
  • Manage contract lifecycle from tendering to execution and closure.
  • Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.

2. Commercial & Cost Control

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for projects.
  • Monitor project costs against approved budgets and report variances.
  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project expenses.
  • Evaluate contractor claims, variations, and change orders.
  • Ensure proper cost allocation and financial tracking across projects.

3. Tendering & Procurement

  • Prepare tender documents, BOQs, and scope of work.
  • Coordinate tendering process including bid evaluation and contractor selection.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure procurement is aligned with project timelines and budget constraints.

4. Project Coordination

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Consultants, and Site Teams to ensure contract compliance.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with contractual milestones.
  • Support project teams in resolving contractual and commercial issues.

5. Claims & Dispute Management

  • Assess, prepare, and manage claims related to delays, variations, and contractual disputes.
  • Liaise with legal and external consultants on dispute resolution when required.
  • Maintain proper documentation for claims and contract correspondence.

6. Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to UAE construction regulations and contractual standards.
  • Prepare periodic commercial reports including cost reports, forecasts, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all commercial activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in contracts and commercial roles within real estate developers or construction companies in UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction practices.
  • Experience in high-rise residential / mixed-use development projects preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED15,000.00 - AED20,000.00 per month
