Project Engineer - Data Center Construction

DeBrine Associates is hiring a Project Engineer to support large-scale data center construction in the greater Reno area.

You'll work alongside our Project Managers and Superintendents handling the day-to-day documentation, coordination, and cost tracking that keeps projects moving. Expect to be involved from preconstruction through closeout: managing submittals and RFIs, supporting buyout, tracking budgets, and helping the team stay ahead of issues before they become problems. It's a great role for someone looking to build toward a PM position on technically complex work.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Managing submittals, RFIs, and project correspondence from initiation through resolution.
• Supporting procurement: pulling together bid packages, leveling bids, and helping with subcontract administration.
• Keeping schedules updated and coordinating with the PM and Super on sequencing and milestones.
• Tracking costs, change orders, and maintaining budget documentation.
• Working with subs, suppliers, and design teams to answer technical questions and keep things on track.
• Maintaining organized project files, writing meeting minutes, and managing daily logs.
• Assisting with QA/QC in the field and supporting the permitting process.
• Putting together project reports for both internal and owner-facing updates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a PE or APM role on commercial or industrial construction.
• Comfortable reading construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar tools.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Good communicator - written and verbal. You'll be coordinating across a lot of parties.
• Takes initiative and doesn't wait to be told what needs to happen next.
• Works well with others but can also operate independently when needed.
• Willing to be out in the field - this is active construction, PPE required.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience on data center, mission-critical, or other technically complex projects.
• Exposure to MEP systems or commissioning processes.
• OSHA 30 certification.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
