Job Description – Project Engineer (Marble & Granite Industry)

Position: Project Engineer

Department: Projects / Operations

Reporting to: Project Manager

Job Summary

The Project Engineer – Marble & Granite is responsible for coordinating and supervising marble and granite works from shop drawings and production through site installation and handover. The role ensures that stone works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, quality standards, timelines, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Site Coordination

Manage marble and granite installation works at site.

Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, installers, and subcontractors.

Ensure works are carried out as per approved shop drawings and specifications.

Monitor daily site activities and project progress.

Technical Responsibilities

Prepare and review shop drawings, cutting lists, and material take-offs.

Verify site measurements prior to fabrication and installation.

Coordinate mock-ups, samples, and material approvals with consultants and clients.

Resolve technical and execution-related issues.

Factory & Procurement Coordination

Coordinate with factory/production team for fabrication schedules.

Ensure timely procurement and delivery of marble and granite materials.

Monitor production quality, cutting accuracy, and finishing standards.

Quality Control

Ensure marble and granite quality, finish, alignment, and joint detailing meet specifications.

Conduct inspections during fabrication and installation stages.

Identify and report defects, damages, or variations.

Cost, Planning & Documentation

Assist in project planning, schedules, and resource allocation.

Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.

Maintain project documentation, inspection reports, and as-built drawings.

Support handover documentation and snag-list closure.

Health & Safety

Ensure compliance with HSE policies and safe handling of stone materials.

Conduct toolbox talks and report unsafe practices.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.

5–10 years of experience in marble, granite, or stone industry projects.

Strong knowledge of stone types, finishes, fixing systems, and installation methods.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of shop drawings and site execution

Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office

Good coordination and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple site activities

Strong communication and team-handling skills

Preferred

UAE/GCC experience in marble, granite, or fit-out projects

Experience in villas, hotels, commercial buildings, and high-end interiors

• Valid driving license (optional)
