Project Engineer (M/F)

The continuous growth of EDF Power Solutions brings with it the increasing complexity and size of projects, requiring a dedicated focus on the technical execution, quality assurance, and seamless transition to operational status. The Project Engineer will be a pivotal member of the project delivery team, primarily focused on ensuring technical integrity, quality compliance, and seamless transition of the asset from the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phase to the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) phase. This role demands a proactive approach to risk mitigation, particularly concerning Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), and a deep commitment to establishing a robust foundation for long-term Asset Management. The incumbent will serve as a key interface between the EPC contractor and the future O&M team.

Project Manager (M/F)

  • Location: Upper Egypt - Site based
  • Availability: As soon as possible
  • Contract duration: One-year contract


You will be responsible for the following key areas, with HSE compliance being the paramount priority:

  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Leadership: Champion a Safety-First culture on site. Actively monitor and enforce strict adherence to all project HSE plans, local regulations, and international best practices. Conduct frequent safety walks, participate in HSE audits, and ensure all commissioning and construction activities are performed with zero-harm objectives.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Oversee the implementation of the project's Quality Management System (QMS). Conduct detailed inspections and hold points to verify that all work, materials, and installations meet the specified technical requirements and quality standards. Manage the documentation and resolution of all quality non-conformances (NCR).
  • Commissioning Oversight: Manage and coordinate the entire commissioning lifecycle, from pre-commissioning checks to final performance testing and provisional acceptance. Ensure all testing procedures are rigorously followed and that all equipment operates reliably and efficiently before handover.
  • EPC to O&M Transition Management: Facilitate the structured handover process. This includes verifying the completeness of all contractual obligations, coordinating necessary training for O&M staff, and ensuring the transfer of critical knowledge and operational procedures.
  • Asset Management Documentation: Systematically review, compile, and formally transfer all essential asset documentation-including As-Built drawings, final O&M manuals, technical specifications, and warranty records, to the Asset Management team, ensuring data integrity for the asset's lifecycle.
  • Technical and Progress Monitoring: Provide expert technical guidance to resolve site issues and monitor the EPC contractor's progress against the project schedule, focusing on critical path activities related to quality and commissioning milestones.


Qualifications and Experience


The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical) and a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project engineering role, preferably in the renewable energy sector (Solar PV, Wind, etc.), with a significant portion dedicated to quality, commissioning, or construction monitoring.


Technical skills

  • HSE Certification: Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) are highly desirable.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and standard MS Office suite.
  • Technical Documentation: Proven ability to review, interpret, and manage technical documentation, including but not limited to IFC, SLD, and design specifications.
  • Language: Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic and French are a strong asset.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration:Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with various stakeholders (EPC, Engineering team, O&M team).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting, technical discussions, and documentation transfer.

  • Problem-Solving:Ability to analyze technical issues during construction and commissioning and propose practical, effective solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, particularly in reviewing technical documents and quality records.

  • Results-Oriented: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workloads to ensure project milestones, especially commissioning and handover, are met on time.
  • Proactive Approach: Takes initiative to anticipate potential quality or transition issues and implement preventative measures.
  • Thoroughness: Ensures all documentation for asset management is complete and accurate.
