Job Description
A Project Engineer at Continental will innovate current and new products through skill sets in refrigeration, system and airflow analysis, control systems, and manufacturing techniques. Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) Mechanical Engineering
- 3-7 years experience in manufacturing environment
- Interpret technical specs: engineering drawings and schematics
- Thorough knowledge of refrigeration, electrical systems, and product manufacturing
- Manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Solidworks 3D
- Electrical controls/wiring is preferred
- Sheet metal fabrication is preferred
- Solidworks CFD is preferred
Responsibilities
Product Development
- Develop industry leading, innovative new products and product improvements
- Research and develop new and modified refrigeration systems, from concept through production
- Develop and perform system analyses, heat gain, thermodynamic studies, CFD, energy simulations, and failure mode analysis.
- Ensure that products meet all requirements: performance specifications, energy efficiency standards, etc.
- Ensure agency compliance of products for UL safety, NSF sanitation, DOE Energy Efficiency, and ASHRAE standards
- Implement continuous improvements through failure mode analysis and value analysis
Prototype Construction and Testing
- Hands-on building of refrigeration systems, including assembly of components, piping and sheetmetal cabinetry
- Work with and direct production personnel on construction of prototype assemblies
- Work with laboratory staff to define test requirements, analyze results, and evaluate performance of tested equipment
Product Support
- Direct and train assemblers for manufacturing of new and modified products and assist production with assembly methods and procedures
- Develop and implement failure mode analysis and life testing
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key suppliers, customers, and partners in support of business growth
Project Management
- Plan, direct, coordinate and lead all aspects of assigned projects, from concept through production, for timely completion.
- Work with Lab staff and manufacturing personnel, to ensure quality and conformance to drawings and specifications.
- Support quality and lean continuous improvement philosophy throughout the company

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
