Job Purpose

The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all engineering and construction activities related to Structural, Mechanical, and Piping disciplines. The role ensures that all project deliverables are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with ADNOC/Aramco standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Develop project execution plans, method statements, and work schedules for assigned discipline (Structural/Mechanical/Piping).
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and QA/QC teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and technical documents; identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions.

Construction Supervision

  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSE guidelines.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials, manpower, and equipment as per plan.
  • Resolve technical issues at the site in coordination with engineering and construction teams.
  • Support the Site Manager/Project Manager in daily operations and progress monitoring.

Technical & Engineering Support

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering documents, drawings, and technical queries (TQ/RFI).
  • Review vendor documents and coordinate with suppliers for technical compliance.
  • Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities related to the discipline.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track daily and weekly progress; highlight delays and propose recovery plans.
  • Prepare progress reports, manpower plans, and material consumption reports.
  • Participate in project meetings (internal and client) and provide updates.

Quality & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure all construction works comply with ADNOC/Aramco standards, International Codes, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections, testing, and quality documentation.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure adherence to site HSE requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in construction of Oil & Gas or EPC projects (Structural, Mechanical, or Piping).
  • Prior ADNOC or Saudi Aramco project experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant engineering standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, and international construction codes.
  • Good understanding of project planning tools (Primavera/MS Project).
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and team leadership skills.
