Project Financial Controller

Role Summary:

A highly capable and qualified Financial Controller to lead the financial operations of our industrial manufacturing company . This role will be instrumental in ensuring sound financial management, strategic decision support, and strong governance across the organization. A critical focus area will be the financial stewardship of a major plant construction project, including capital expenditure (Capex) oversight, cash flow management, and future commercial readiness .

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform / manage all core financial functions including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and compliance.
• Ensure robust internal controls and adherence to corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
• Provide financial leadership and partner with business leaders to drive performance and informed decision-making.
• Play a key role in the financial stewardship of a major plant construction project , including:
• Oversight of capital expenditure (Capex), ensuring thorough cost control, value realization, and alignment with project milestones.
• Managing project cash flows and working capital requirements to support execution without disruption.
• Working with the treasury team and external financial institutions to arrange and structure project financing.
• Designing and implementing financial systems and reporting tools to ensure real-time visibility and control.
• Contributing to the development of business systems and processes for future commercial operations to ensure operational readiness post-construction.
• Collaborate closely with project management, procurement, engineering, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial tracking, risk mitigation, and compliance.
• Deliver clear, actionable financial insights and recommendations to senior management and the board.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial practices, systems, and processes to support scalability and efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified accountant (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA, CA).
• 8–10+ years of progressive experience in finance in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• Demonstrated experience in capital project finance, cash flow management, and Capex stewardship.
• Hands-on experience with SAP FICO , with the ability to leverage the system for reporting, analysis, and controls.
• Strong business acumen and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record in process design, financial planning, and external stakeholder engagement (e.g., banks, auditors).
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
