Project Management Office

Position Description:Act as the central governance authority, responsible for setting project standards, driving efficiency, and ensuring that IT projects align with client strategy. Oversee a portfolio of projects, providing support to client Engagement Managers, and leadership to project managers, managing resources, and tracking performance metrics to ensure successful delivery. Responsible for implementing governance frameworks, leading project management and QA resources, and fostering a culture of accountability. This role will facilitate resource deployment according to client need, resource capacity and skill set and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. Essential Responsibilities:1. Governance and Standards

  • Establish Frameworks: Define, implement, and enforce standardized project management methodologies, templates, and best practices (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).
  • Gate Reviews: Lead stage-gate reviews to ensure projects meet quality standards and align with business objectives.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with SDLC, cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, ISO).

2. Portfolio and Performance Management

  • Intake & Prioritization: Manage the end-to-end client and project intake process, aligning new initiatives with strategic goals and resource capacity.
  • Reporting: Develop and maintain portfolio dashboards to provide visibility into project health, risks, dependencies, and financial metrics (actuals vs. budget).
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage enterprise-level risks and issues, facilitating mitigation strategies.

3. Strategic Leadership and Resource Management

  • Resource Allocation: Optimize the utilization of project resources across client delivery requirements.
  • Mentorship: Mentor, coach, and guide project managers and analysts to enhance team maturity.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate Steering Committee meetings based on Engagement Manager requirements and communicate project statuses to client senior leadership.
  • Tools Management: Optimize use of PMO tools (e.g. Jira).
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements in delivery speed and quality by implementing lessons learned.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 7–10+ years of experience in IT Project/Program Management, with at least 3–4 years specifically running a PMO function.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) is highly preferred; CSM (Scrum Master) is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of Agile/Waterfall methodologies, ERP systems, and project management tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
