Project Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead large-scale construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate must have strong local experience, deep knowledge of regulatory processes, and proven leadership in design-build environments. Role Overview: The Project Director will be responsible for the overall strategic, technical, and commercial leadership of projects from inception to handover. This role requires direct engagement with Abu Dhabi authorities, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely approvals, compliance, and successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Leadership & Delivery Provide executive oversight of project planning, execution, and delivery. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards. Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial departments. Oversee risk management, cost control, and contractual compliance. 2. Authorities & Approvals Management Lead coordination and negotiations with Abu Dhabi authorities. Secure all required permits and statutory approvals. Manage approval processes with IDAS (Integrated Development Approval System) and other relevant regulatory platforms. Ensure full compliance with Abu Dhabi building codes and regulations. 3. Design & Build Expertise Oversee full Design & Build lifecycle. Ensure seamless integration between design consultants and construction teams. Review design submissions and ensure constructability and value engineering optimization. 4. Technical Expertise (Steel Structures – Preferred) Provide strategic oversight on projects involving steel structures. Review structural methodologies and ensure adherence to engineering best practices. Coordinate with structural engineers and fabrication teams. 5. Stakeholder & Client Management Act as the primary point of contact for clients and senior stakeholders. Lead high-level meetings and reporting. Maintain strong relationships with consultants, subcontractors, and government entities. Qualifications & Requirements: Minimum 20+ years of experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience delivering projects in Abu Dhabi. Strong experience dealing with local authorities and securing approvals. Hands-on experience with Design & Build projects in Abu Dhabi. Familiarity with IDAS approval processes is mandatory. Steel structure project experience is highly preferred. Strong commercial and contractual acumen. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
