In the Project Manager role, you will be responsible for the management of one or more quality improvement projects in the HCQIP department. This individual is also responsible for the analysis of Medicare and Medicaid databases, including claims, review results, management reports, cooperative projects, and special research studies, and supports the Health Care Quality Improvement Program by assisting in the design of quality improvement studies. Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Managing several projects concurrently. This may include being responsible for ensuring that all planning, data collection, analysis, tracking and reporting are done based on contract requirements.
  • Coordinating the work of staff members from a variety of disciplines (e.g., clinicians, programmers, project data collection staff and intervention area) assigned to a project team.
  • Synthesizing input from workgroup members to design data collection tools, sampling strategies, worksheet instructions, and data reports that meet customer needs.
  • Analyzing statistical and epidemiological data patterns and outcomes data and provides written analyses and reports. Suggests and performs additional analyses, utilizing advanced statistical techniques.
  • Working with extremely large complex datasets in SAS.
  • Acting as a liaison to CMS, other QIOs and consortiums in regards to data analysis and research issues.
  • Contributing to the design and analysis of cooperative projects by interacting with physician/nurse work groups or members of Quality Improvement Department.

This position is office based at our Jericho, NY or Albany, NY office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to present aspects of projects design and data analysis to interested parties with varying backgrounds and using a variety of statistical, spreadsheet, and data base programs.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of a full cycle of a project.
  • Good writing skills with the ability to clearly and thoroughly present quantitative and qualitative review findings to interested parties with varying technical background.
  • Proficiency in the use of statistical software packages, especially SAS programming languages, and other applications like MS Access and SQL Language.
  • Ability to work well independently and with minimal supervision, in an efficient manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with members of all staff in other departments at all levels or familiarity with computers and statistics and on special projects while still adhering to the demands of the Data Analysis Department.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, health care, public health, public policy or social science with course work including both management and analysis, preferred.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or project Management Professional (PMP) is required.
  • One year experience in medical research, health policy analysis, public health or similar research, evaluation or health care experience, required. Two years of the above experience, preferred.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The annualized salary range for this position is $80,000.00 – $90,000.00. Actual salary range and /or hourly rate depends on a variety of factors including experience, education, credentials, location, and budget.
