About the Role:

The Project Manager, Broadcast Positioning Systems (BPS) plays a key role in advancing NAB’s next-generation positioning technology initiatives. This position is responsible for managing complex, cross-functional projects related to BPS product development (hardware and software), deployment, and testing.

Working closely with the Vice President, BPS, this role combines strategic coordination with hands-on execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities. You will collaborate with engineers, industry partners, and stakeholders across sectors to bring innovative broadcast-based positioning solutions to life.

As a Project Manager, you’ll be part of a team shaping the future of broadcast and its role in critical national systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead and manage BPS projects from initiation through completion, including product development, deployment, and testing efforts.
  • Develop project plans, define scope, establish timelines, identify resources, and manage contracts.
  • Ensure alignment of projects with organizational priorities and industry needs.

Monitoring, Reporting & Risk Management

  • Track project progress, scope, quality, budgets, expenses, and revenue.
  • Identify risks and proactively communicate updates and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, coordinating across internal teams, external partners, vendors, and industry stakeholders.
  • Prepare data-driven reports, briefings, and updates for department leadership and external audiences.
  • Support stakeholder engagement across engineering, policy, and industry communities.

Strategic Support & Collaboration

  • Provide project leadership and direct support to the Vice President, BPS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Support research, analysis, and documentation related to broadcast positioning and emerging PNT technologies.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Coordinate development and maintenance of technical documentation, presentations, and digital resources.
  • Ensure clear, accurate, and accessible project documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • 3–5 years of project management experience in technology, broadcast, telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through completion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with technical writing and documentation.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Comfort using AI tools to improve efficiency, analyze information, and support decision-making.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with project management tools.
  • Experience with broadcast systems, RF technology, communications systems, software and/or hardware development.
  • Familiarity with positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) technologies and ATSC 3.0 standards.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Work Environment & Travel:

This position operates with a hybrid schedule which includes at least three days in the Washington D.C. office. Domestic travel of up to 10% may be required.
